With technology advancing at such a fast pace, our phones nearly rival the quality of our dslr’s nowadays. As those who shoot for a living know, the camera doesn’t maketh the photographer.
It’s a strong image, composition and timing that ultimately make a great photograph - and that can be achieved with any camera.
For the entire month of January, I had the honor of participating in a phone only photography gallery show at Mark’s Garage in downtown Honolulu. Outside of a commercial sense, it’s almost novelty to print & hang personal work in the days of instagram and facebook. I’ve always valued tangibility. Holding a completed body of work is always gratifying and being able to show off some of my favorites taken on my phone is my own personal statement. A good photo is a good photo.
